Frequently Asked Questions
What is Personal Care Physical Therapy?
Personal Care Physical Therapy is a Mobile Therapy Company that provides Outpatient Physical and Occupational therapy in the comfort and safety of your home. We function like an outpatient clinic, and the only difference is that we come to your home and bring all the necessary supplies!
Is This the Same as Home Health?
No. Personal Care Physical Therapy is different from Home Health. We function as an outpatient clinic, which allows us more flexibility in who can receive care. For instance, our patients do not need to be homebound in order to receive our services.
What Types of Patients Benefit from Personal Care Physical Therapy Services?
There are various examples of patients who can benefit from our services. Here are some examples:
-
Patients who do not require nursing and are post-operative.
-
Patients who qualify for outpatient services but would prefer to receive therapy in the home, rather than commuting to a clinic.
-
Patients who prefer personalized one-on-one attention with their dedicated therapist for the entire session.
-
Patients who do not qualify for Medicare A home health services, either because they are not considered homebound or do not require nursing, but still have difficulty leaving the home or prefer treatment in the home.
Our therapists will keep you active by improving balance, mobility, strength and treating previous or current conditions.
Do I Need A Referral From My Doctor?
No. A referral is not required to start therapy. While it may be helpful, it is not necessary. The state of Florida allows direct access to Physical Therapy without a doctor's referral for 30 days. Once that limit is reached, our office coordinator will reach out to your primary care physician for authorization of more visits.
